I’ve always loved all sorts of art growing up and I majored in urban planning for a year in undergraduate. Despite going against my gut feeling, I decided to transfer my major to biology, and eventually ended up with a Ph.D. in neuroscience at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Yes, I always get the puzzled look and the question, “Why are you photographing weddings?” For me, documenting one of the most important days of your lives has been more rewarding, and I guess deep down in me, I just love being an artist! I love every aspect of weddings, from the gorgeous details to the raw emotions. I also love making new connections and truly adore all of my couples. My approach to your wedding is the perfect balance of an artistic photojournalistic style capturing real moments while simultaneously creating fine art portraits and stylized details.
Hello! I’m Irina, a portrait photographer in Queens, New York. I proudly specialize in maternity, newborns and babies in their first year. I always had a passion for photography, but never exactly dreamt of being a photographer. I graduated college with a degree in accounting and finance. It was after I became a mom that my passion turned into a true obsession. I decided to purse photography more than just a hobby. I started taking photography classes and mentored with some of the best newborn photographers in the industry to learn about newborn posing and safety. In 2012, I quit my full time job as an accountant and opened my studio. In the past 5 years, I have photographed hundreds of newborns and babies. As a mom of 3 beautiful girls, Brianna, Lia & Eliana (hence the name Brilianna Photography), I know first hand how quickly babies grow. I look forward to working with you, to slow time down for just a bit and create memories that will touch your heart.
